What it is

Using it as an incubation medium

Place a deep layer of moistened vermiculite into your incubation box before introducing eggs. A starting moisture ratio of 2 parts vermiculite to 1 part water by weight is appropriate for many reptile species, though specific requirements vary — always research the needs of your species before eggs are laid. Place eggs so that the upper third remains exposed, and take care to transfer them from the laying site without rotating them.
