ABOUT THIS SPECIES

Takydromus sexlineatus, commonly called the Six-lined Grass Lizard, is a slender, fast-moving agamid native to Southeast Asian grasslands, shrublands, and forest edges. Its name derives from the six distinctive pale stripes running along its body, which contrast against a green or brown background, providing effective camouflage among grasses and low vegetation.

This species is highly diurnal and relies on speed and agility to hunt insects and avoid predators. It spends much of its time on the ground or low vegetation but will climb short grasses or branches when threatened or searching for prey.

In captivity, Six-lined Grass Lizards thrive in tall, planted enclosures with dense foliage, climbing opportunities, and moderate humidity. Their active nature and insectivorous diet make them engaging to observe, while proper heat, UVB, and humidity support natural behaviour and health.
