Product Information

FS Discus Pellets are a specialist diet for discus keepers who want to feed closer to what these fish actually eat in the wild. Built around a 36% insect meal blend, grain-free and fish meal-free, this is a purposefully formulated pellet that addresses the nutritional demands of one of the most rewarding — and most demanding — fish in the hobby.

Insect-Led Formula

The 36% insect meal content draws from black soldier fly, mealworm, daphnia, and bloodworm — a combination that mirrors the invertebrate-heavy diet discus consume naturally in South American waters. Excluding grain and fish meal keeps the ingredient profile clean and relevant to the species, rather than relying on fillers that dilute nutritional quality.

Colour Enhancement and Immune Support

Natural colour-enhancing and immune-supporting ingredients are built into the formula rather than added as afterthoughts. Spirulina, haematococcus pluvialis, turmeric, and kelp contribute to colour expression, while garlic, hydrolysed tannins, and rosemary support general health and resilience.

Nutritional Analysis

  • Protein: 45%
  • Oil: 7%
  • Fibre: 5%
  • Moisture: 7%
  • Ash: 10%
  • Vitamins added: A (24,000 IU/kg), D3 (1,400 IU/kg), E (95mg/kg), C (420mg/kg)

Pellet Format

These are 3mm slowly sinking pellets, suited to discus feeding behaviour at mid-water depth. The slow sink rate gives fish time to intercept food before it reaches the substrate, reducing waste and keeping water quality stable.

Feeding Guide

Feed once or twice daily, offering only what your discus will consume within one minute. Remove any uneaten food promptly. If switching from another diet, allow a few days for the fish to accept the new pellet — this is normal behaviour during any food transition.

At 155g (250ml), this pack is a practical size for regular feeding without excessive stock turnover, and the full ingredient and additive transparency makes it easy to assess against your fish's specific requirements.
