Material & Construction

This substrate is produced from sustainable wood and processed to be genuinely dust-free, making it well-suited to species with delicate respiratory systems and to young animals. Heat treatment during production reduces bacterial load and enhances absorbency, so you're starting with a cleaner, more capable bedding from the outset.

Absorbency & Maintenance

The wood fibre structure delivers a 3:1 absorption ratio and dries quickly after absorbing moisture, keeping the enclosure surface drier for longer. This combination significantly reduces the frequency of full substrate changes. Spot clean daily and replace the entire bedding every eight weeks, or sooner if conditions require.

Natural Burrowing Behaviour

The texture of the wood fibre allows snakes to push and shape the bedding into firm, stable burrows — behaviour that mirrors what they would do in the wild. This makes it particularly useful for species that naturally seek out concealed resting spots beneath the surface.

Directions for Use

• Ensure the terrarium or breeding tub is fully disinfected and dry before adding substrate
• Spread an even layer of at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) across the floor of the enclosure
• Spot clean on a daily basis to remove waste and soiled material
• Replace the full substrate every eight weeks or when hygiene demands it
• Remove reptiles from the enclosure during feeding to prevent accidental ingestion
