The Exo Terra PTC Self-Regulating Heat Mat (PT2032) is an 8W, 20x15cm under-tank heater built on carbon fibre PTC heating technology. It is designed to provide steady, uniform conductive heat beneath the substrate — replicating the warmth of sun-heated ground surfaces that reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates rely on to regulate their body temperature. Suitable as a primary or secondary 24-hour heat source depending on the species being kept, and particularly useful as a nighttime heat source where overhead lighting is switched off.

PTC Carbon Fibre Heating Technology

PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) carbon fibre heating means the mat self-regulates its maximum output temperature, reducing the risk of overheating. The electrothermal conversion efficiency exceeds 95%, delivering strong heat output relative to the wattage drawn. An automatic fail-safe mechanism is built in, and the mat reaches working temperature rapidly after being switched on.
