Blue River Fruit & Bug Gecko Diet is a complete, gel-premix food for crested geckos and other frugivorous reptile species. Each pack contains 10 x 60g sachets of a fruit-and-insect formula made with natural ingredients, freshly produced in the UK — no artificial colours, no artificial flavourings, just a balanced diet designed around what these animals actually need.

What's in the formula

The ingredient list is straightforward and honest: black soldier fly larvae for insect protein, mango and banana for natural fruit content, soya protein, brown rice flour, honey, and bee pollen for natural sweetness. Gut health is supported with Lactobacillus helveticus, and the mineral base includes calcium powder and magnesium carbonate. Vitamins A and D3 are added to cover requirements that a captive diet cannot reliably meet from food alone.

Mixing and use

Combine 1 part formula powder with 2 parts water and stir thoroughly — adjust water quantity to reach your preferred consistency. Mixed food should be removed from the vivarium after 24 hours. Any unused mixed diet can be stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days before disposal.

One thing worth knowing

The magnesium carbonate in the formula can occasionally cause the mixed diet to take on a blue tint, which may look like mould. It is not mould — the discolouration is harmless and disperses when stirred. This is a normal characteristic of the ingredient and does not affect safety or palatability.
