In colder months a heat pack may be included to maintain safe transit temperatures; in warmer months the outer box may carry additional perforations to aid cooling.

Keeping and Gut-Loading

To maintain nutritional quality between delivery and feeding, keep the tub at room temperature away from direct sunlight and draughts. Feed the crickets regularly on fresh leafy greens and vegetables such as raw carrot, squash, or sweet potato — these provide both hydration and nutrients that pass directly to your animal. Remove uneaten food daily to prevent mould. Well-maintained crickets deliver considerably more nutritional benefit than those left unfed.
