Product Information

Black crickets are one of the most widely used feeder insects in reptile and amphibian keeping, and this tub of 500 small crickets is sized for hatchlings, juveniles, and smaller species. Easy to digest, nutritious, and active enough to trigger a strong feeding response, they form a reliable staple for daily feeding routines. These are dispatched directly from the breeder and gut-loaded before packing, so they arrive in good nutritional condition.

Size and Species Suitability

Small black crickets are appropriate for animals that cannot yet take a full-grown or medium cricket. They are well suited to the following:

  • Baby bearded dragons
  • Baby leopard geckos
  • Baby crested geckos
  • Baby chameleons
  • Tree frogs
  • Small spiders and mantis

Packaging and Transit

Crickets arrive in a ventilated plastic tub with small air holes along the sides for airflow. Inside, a section of egg-box cardboard increases surface area, giving the insects room to spread out and reducing losses from overcrowding or trampling. In colder months a heat pack may be included to maintain safe transit temperatures; in warmer months the outer box may carry additional perforations to aid cooling.

Keeping and Gut-Loading

To maintain nutritional quality between delivery and feeding, keep the tub at room temperature away from direct sunlight and draughts. Feed the crickets regularly on fresh leafy greens and vegetables such as raw carrot, squash, or sweet potato — these provide both hydration and nutrients that pass directly to your animal. Remove uneaten food daily to prevent mould. Well-maintained crickets deliver considerably more nutritional benefit than those left unfed.

Farm-Bred and Freshness Guaranteed

These crickets are farm-bred under controlled conditions and sent out five days a week via fast courier. If your order arrives in poor condition or with quality concerns, contact the Viperia team and we will put it right.

A consistent, responsibly sourced feeder insect in a practical bulk quantity — straightforward to keep, easy to feed, and suitable across a broad range of reptile, amphibian, and invertebrate species.
